How to choose the power of rural solar street lights

In fact, the configuration of solar street lights must first determine the power of the lamps. Generally, rural road lighting uses 30-60 watts, and urban roads require more than 60 watts. It is not recommended to use solar power for LED lamps over 120 watts. The configuration is too high, the cost is high, and many problems will arise in the later stage.

To be precise, the choice of power is based on evidence. The wattage of solar street lights is generally selected in proportion to the width of the road and the height of the lamp pole or according to the road lighting standard.

Solar Street Light GEL Battery Buried DesignAs an experienced solar street lamp manufacturer, Tianxiang relies on the experience of multiple landing projects to understand the actual needs of rural scenes. The products are not only adapted to the complex climatic conditions in the countryside, but also more cost-effective. We insist on matching the needs with the factory direct supply price, without adding layers of price, and really suppressing the cost. Whether it is the early scene survey, lighting scheme design, installation and construction guidance, or later operation and maintenance support, you can rest assured to choose Tianxiang.

1. Confirm the lighting time

First of all, we need to confirm the length of the lighting time of the rural solar street lights. If the lighting time is relatively long, it is not suitable to choose high power. Because the longer the lighting time, the more heat is dissipated inside the lamp head, and the heat dissipation of high-power lamp heads is relatively large. In addition, the lighting time is long, so the overall heat dissipation is very large, which will seriously affect the service life of rural solar street lights, so the lighting time must be considered.

2. Confirm the height of the lamp pole

Second, determine the height of the rural LED street lights. Different street light pole heights are matched with different powers. Generally, the higher the height, the greater the power of the LED street light used. The normal rural LED street lights height is between 4 meters and 8 meters, so the optional LED street light head power is 20W~90W.

3. Confirm the road width

Third, determine the width of the rural road.

According to national standards, the design width of township roads is 6.5-7 meters, village roads are 4.5-5.5 meters, and group roads (roads connecting villages and natural villages) are 3.5-4 meters. Combined with the actual use scenario: ‌

‌Main road/two-way two-lane (road width 4-6 meters): ‌20W-30W is recommended, suitable for lamp pole height 5-6 meters, covering diameter of about 15-20 meters. ‌

‌Secondary road/single lane (road width about 3.5 meters): ‌15W-20W is recommended, lamp pole height 2.5-3 meters. ‌

4. Determine lighting needs

If there are frequent activities at night in the countryside or the lighting time needs to be extended, the power can be appropriately increased (such as choosing lamps above 30W); if the economy is the main consideration, a more cost-effective solution of 15W-20W can be selected. ‌

Rural solar street light

The commonly used street lamp heads of rural solar street lamps have various specifications of power such as 20W/30W/40W/50W, and the greater the power, the better the brightness. From the perspective of cost, 20W and 30W rural solar street lamps can basically meet the current life needs.
