1. Select the lamp pole with wall thickness

Whether the pole of solar street lamp has enough wind resistance and enough bearing capacity is directly related to its wall thickness, so its wall thickness needs to be determined according to the use situation of the street lamp. For example, the wall thickness of street lamps about 2-4 meters should be at least 2.5 cm; The wall thickness of street lamps with a length of about 4-9 meters is required to reach about 4~4.5 cm; The wall thickness of 8-15 meters high street lamps shall be at least 6 cm. If it is a region with perennial strong winds, the value of wall thickness will be higher.

2. Select a material

The material of the lamp pole will directly affect the service life of the street lamp, so it is also carefully selected. Common lamp pole materials include Q235 rolled steel pole, stainless steel pole, cement pole, etc.:

(1) Q235 steel

The hot-dip galvanizing treatment on the surface of the light pole made of Q235 steel can enhance the corrosion resistance of the light pole. There is also another treatment method, cold galvanizing. However, it is still recommended that you choose hot galvanizing.

(2) Stainless steel lamp pole

Solar street lamp poles are also made of stainless steel, which also has excellent anti-corrosion performance. However, in terms of price, it is not so friendly. You can choose according to your specific budget.

(3) Cement pole

Cement pole is a kind of traditional lamp pole with long service life and high strength, but it is heavy and inconvenient to transport, so it is usually used by traditional electric pole, but this kind of lamp pole is rarely used now.

3. Select Height

(1) Select according to road width

The height of the lamp pole determines the illuminance of the street lamp, so the height of the lamp pole should also be carefully selected, mainly according to the width of the road. Generally, the height of the single-side street lamp ≥ the width of the road, the height of the double-side symmetrical street lamp=the width of the road, and the height of the double-side zigzag street lamp is about 70% of the width of the road, in order to provide a better lighting effect.

(2) Select according to traffic flow

When selecting the height of the light pole, we should also consider the traffic flow on the road. If there are more large trucks in this section, we should choose a higher light pole. If there are more cars, the light pole can be lower. Of course, the specific height should not deviate from the standard.
